What is the Digital Platform for Informal Economy Development?
The Digital Platform for Informal Economy Development is an onboarding platform for informal economy actors to gain recognition as informal economy actors by the Royal Government. The data collected through the onboarding will enable the Royal Government to design benefit packages tailored to the needs of informal economy actors.
Who Can Register as Informal Economy Actors?
- Employees of Micro-Enterprises refers to individuals of all genders who are contracted to work under the management of another individual, whether a private or public legal entity.
Seasonal workers/employees refer to individuals engaged in short-term or seasonal work under specific agreements. These tasks are often periodic, sporadic, or tied to certain seasons. - Micro-Enterprises refer to business entities with annual turnover below 62,250 USD or fewer than 5 employees.
- Self-Employed Individuals refers to individuals engaged in income-generating activities or trades independently, without a salary-based employment contract or the use of hired employees.
Required Documents:
- Photo of their original Cambodian national ID card.
- Selfie photo of the participant’s face
- Photo of the business location with the applicant’s face
- Photo showing business activities.
Registration Process Through the Digital Platform (Cam-IE):
- Open the Cam-IE.
- in the information to create a new account: enter your phone number, create a passcode, and confirm the passcode. The passcode must be at least six characters long and include lowercase letters, uppercase letters, and numbers. Then, click √ and press the ‘Create Account’ button.
- Upload a scanned copy or photo of your Cambodian national ID in PNG, JPG, or JPEG format.
- Provide a personal photo in the designated frame without masks, hats, or glasses.
- Verify and correct the auto-filled details from the ID card, then click “Next.”
- Complete the required fields:
- Education, health, and family details.
- Business or occupational details.
- Government support requirements.
- Photo of the business location with the applicant’s face and photo showing business activities.
- Click “Save” after completing each section.
- For additional businesses or activities, click “Add” and then “Next.”
- Verify all details and click the checkbox, then click “Register.”
Response Time:
Registration review and acknowledgment, along with the issuance of the certificate, will take up to one working day.
