During the meeting, H.E. Dr. KAO Thach, representing the Kingdom of Cambodia, was re-elected by majority voice as Chairman of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) for the 2026–2029 term. The election outcome reflected the confidence of ADFIAP members in H.E. Dr. KAO Thach’s leadership and commitment to advancing the Association’s mission with a clear and forward-looking vision. It should also be noted that ADFIAP serves as a regional platform and network for development finance institutions across Asia and the Pacific, contributing to the promotion of sustainable and inclusive development. Established in 1976, the Association currently has members from more than 45 countries.

H.E. Dr. KAO Thach Chairs the 100th ADFIAP Board of Directors Meeting
Colombo, Sri Lanka: H.E. Dr. KAO Thach, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Chief Executive Officer of the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB) and Chairman of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP), chaired the 100th ADFIAP Board of Directors Meeting to discuss the Association’s progress and challenges. The meeting focused on several key agenda items, including: 1) A report on ADFIAP’s achievements in 2025, including member capacity building, the promotion of technological transformation to support member institutions, and various collaborative initiatives to advance sustainable finance; 2) Initiatives to strengthen strategic partnerships; 3) A progress report on the implementation of initiatives under the Special Interest Groups (SIGs); and the election of the ADFIAP Chairman and Vice Chairman for the 2026–2029 term. As a result, ADFIAP recorded a number of significant achievements in 2025, particularly in advancing cooperation and strategic partnerships and strengthening the capacity of its member institutions.
