Agricultural and Rural Development Bank Attends the 2026 China-ASEAN Financial Cooperation and Development Forum
Nanning, China: At the invitation of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC – Phnom Penh Branch) and with the high authorization of H.E. Dr. Kao Thach, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Chief Executive Officer of ARDB, H.E. Ban Lim, Deputy CEO of ARDB, led a delegation to attend the “2026 China-ASEAN Financial Cooperation and Development Forum” held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China. This year’s forum was organized to discuss enhancing financial innovation and elevating technological security governance using AI.
The ARDB delegation attended the official opening ceremony alongside leaders of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, financial institutions, central banks of ASEAN countries, and representatives from government ministries and institutions across ASEAN and China. On the sidelines of the forum’s Cross-Border Financial Services Cooperation platform, ARDB and GUANGXI BEIBU GULF BANK (BBG) officially signed the CIPS Indirect Participant Agreement to strengthen payment service delivery and facilitate cross-border financial transactions between Cambodian and Chinese financial institutions with enhanced efficiency and high security.
In addition, H.E. Ban Lim served as an honored speaker, delivering remarks at the “2026 China-ASEAN AI Financial Innovation and Technological Security Governance Roundtable”. On this occasion, he shared ARDB’s vision through its transformation toward sustainable digital technology. He further emphasized leveraging AI to facilitate financial cooperation alongside establishing robust technological security governance—ensuring that institutional capacity is appropriately matched, and setting financial inclusion for agricultural farmers as a core principle.
